Former NFL star Antonio Brown was extradited from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to the United States to face trial for an attempted murder charge related to a shooting incident in Miami earlier this year.
Brown, 37, is currently held in Essex County, New Jersey, while awaiting extradition to Miami-Dade County, where the trial will take place. Authorities have not disclosed the exact time of his arrest or when he will be transferred to Miami-Dade.
“This is just another example of the relentless work and dedication of Miami Police detectives, working closely with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office and U.S. Marshals to identify and arrest those who commit crimes in the City of Miami,” police said in a statement.
The attempted murder charge stems from a May 16 dispute at a boxing event hosted by influencer Adin Ross. Brown’s social media indicated he had been staying in Dubai for several months following the incident.
After a warrant for Brown's arrest was issued in June, he initially secured a $10,000 bond with house arrest through his attorney but failed to surrender himself to authorities. Police did not confirm whether extradition was planned at that time.
Summary: Antonio Brown’s extradition from Dubai highlights persistent law enforcement efforts to bring him to trial for a serious incident at a Miami event in May 2025.
