A parade and ceremony will take place on Remembrance Day, November 11th, to honor fallen Canadian soldiers and recognize the service of veterans and active military members.
The annual Remembrance Day parade and ceremony will begin at 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11th, in downtown Fort St. John. This event commemorates local veterans and the sacrifices made by Canadian soldiers.
The parade, organized by the local Royal Canadian Legion branch, will start outside the School District 60 office on 102nd Street. It will proceed past the legion building along 105th Avenue, continue to City Hall, and then return to the cenotaph for an outdoor ceremony.
After the outdoor ceremony, attendees are invited inside the legion for a full day of activities. According to the City of Fort St. John’s website, attractions include horse races, a turkey shoot, and dinner.
“Road closures will be in effect along the parade route and near the legion building from 9:30 a.m. to noon on the 11th, with no vehicle access whatsoever.”
