Stranger Things Season 5: First Five Minutes Revisit Will Byers's Disappearance

Netflix has released the first five minutes of the eagerly awaited Stranger Things Season 5, taking viewers back to the beginning of the series when Will Byers disappeared. This preview comes just days before the full new season premieres on digital platforms.

Without revealing much of the new storyline, the clip returns fans to the original incident of Will's disappearance, witnessed by his mother, Joyce, and Police Chief Jim Hopper, in the eerie Hawkins Library located in the Upside Down.

Season 5 Opening Scene

The story picks up 18 months after the last season's events. The opening scene features 12-year-old Will Byers inside the Upside Down, appearing exhausted, confused, and trembling as he quietly sings The Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go.”

“The song here is important for Will and acts as a reminder for the audience, as it is the track introduced to the teen by his brother in Season 1.”

While singing, Will is interrupted by strange noises outside which cause him to stop. Suddenly, a Demogorgon crashes into the castle nearby. Will almost escapes after firing a hunting rifle at the creature, but when he climbs a tree searching for an exit, the Demogorgon finds him and throws him to the ground.
