Derby residents are invited to participate in this year’s Remembrance Sunday events on Sunday, 9 November 2025, to honor the sacrifices of armed forces and emergency services members.
The city’s annual parade and service will bring together youth groups, veteran organizations, and community members in a collective tribute. Starting at 10:45 AM, veterans and youth groups will march through the city centre to the Market Place, accompanied by the Salvation Army Band.
A short service will begin at 10:55 AM, led by the Lord Bishop of Derby with assistance from the Very Rev'd Dr Peter Robinson, Dean of Derby. A two-minute silence will be held to pay respects.
"The city’s annual Remembrance Sunday parade and service returns this November, bringing together youth groups, veteran organisations and people from all walks of life to honour the sacrifice of members of the armed forces and emergency services."
After the silence, wreaths will be laid at the War Memorial by civic dignitaries and representatives from local groups. The Order of Service can be downloaded, and the event will be streamed live on a large screen in the Market Place.
Unlike recent years, troops from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers 148 Divisional Support Company will not be parading, but several local youth and veteran organizations will continue their participation as usual.
This annual Remembrance Sunday event in Derby unites the community to respectfully remember those who served, with a parade, service, and wreath laying in the city centre.
