A spokesperson for Turning Point USA wrongly accused a high school's math department of wearing Halloween costumes that mocked the assassination of TPUSA cofounder Charlie Kirk. This led to teachers at Cienega High School in Arizona being doxed, receiving numerous online attacks, and multiple death threats.
On Friday, Cienega High School’s math department wore matching blood-stained white T-shirts with the slogan “Problem Solved” written across the front. A photo of the group was shared on the Vail School District’s official Facebook page.
The district’s superintendent, John Carruth, stated that no students or parents complained about the costumes during the school day.
On Saturday, Andrew Kolvet, executive producer for Charlie Kirk’s show, posted the photo on X with a claim:
“Concerned parents just sent us this image of what's believed to be teachers in [Vail School District] mocking Charlie's murder. They deserve to be famous, and fired.”
Kolvet suggested the T-shirts resembled the “Freedom” T-shirts Kirk wore when he was assassinated at Utah Valley University on September 10.
District officials clarified that no complaints about the costumes were received during the event, emphasizing the false nature of the claims.
This incident shows how inaccurate social media accusations can lead to harmful consequences for educators, fueled by misinformation and public outrage.
