Just a day before Helena's city elections, Senator Tim Sheehy's office reported receiving a threatening voicemail from candidate Haley McKnight, who is running for city commission.
McKnight expressed regret over some of the language used, but felt her anger towards Sheehy's actions in office was "justifiable rage."
Sheehy's policies "stripped away health care" for millions of Americans.
The voicemail was made on July 1, after the Senate advanced Republicans' "One Big Bill" with tighter Medicaid restrictions.
Sheehy's office issued a news release, linking to an article from the National Review, regarding the incident.
