Police Investigation into Mob Attack on NAIMOS Team
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has directed the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters to investigate the attack on the Director of Operations of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) and his team.
The incident occurred at Hwidiem in the Ahafo Region, where the NAIMOS team intercepted illegal miners and arrested some suspects on November 1, 2025.
As part of the investigation, the Asutifi North MP, Ebenezer Addo, has been invited for questioning over the mob attack.
The police have taken over investigations to establish the facts surrounding the attack.
The police are working to ensure that those responsible for the attack are held accountable.
