As the federal government shutdown continues, Mississippi families relying on SNAP benefits are left without support. In response, Extra Table FEEDS has launched an emergency plan to double food distribution across the state.
“We are doubling our donation, we are doubling our distribution. Our 66 food pantry partners will receive two deliveries, two pallets, twice the food,”
said Executive Director Martha Allen Price. The organization aims to feed more Mississippians as SNAP benefits are paused. Extra Table FEEDS is also running a matching fundraiser, with the Community Foundation for Mississippi offering a $50,000 match.
