U of T Grad Navigates Cancer While Learning to Improve Indigenous Families' Health

Linda Nothing, a Language Keeper and member of Bearskin Lake First Nation, began cancer treatment and her graduate program at the University of Toronto simultaneously, viewing both as paths to healing.

Chemotherapy can be a dreaded process for patients, but if one is able to “reframe” their thinking about it – it’s just medicine.

This mindset became a source of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual strength that sustained her through health struggles and studies.

Linda Nothing celebrated her convocation with Assistant Professor Suzy Goodleaf and Associate Professor Jane Middelton-Moz of the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work.
