Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre welcomes historian and author Ted Barris to mark Remembrance Day on Nov. 8.
Celebrating the 85th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain
Ted Barris will explore the significant contributions of Canadian airmen during the Battle of Britain in the Second World War.
- Canadian flyers defended England during 113 harrowing days in 1940.
- Twenty pilots were lost in action.
- Twelve received the Distinguished Flying Cross for their courage.
Canadians – some from well-known families, others fresh from the farm – served in forty-seven squadrons.
