The Sixers appeared to finally run out of energy, but Adem Bona refused to let them lose their first game of the season.
Playing on the second night of a back-to-back, the team looked gassed and struggled to keep up with the Washington Wizards, who were led by Alex Sarr and Kyshawn George and were flirting with a 60% field goal percentage for most of the night.
Joel Embiid led the team with 25 points, but had to leave the game with seven minutes to go due to a minutes restriction, leaving the Sixers trailing by nine.
