Blaine School Board has agreed to extend interim superintendent Dan Chaplik's contract through the 2027-28 school year.
Chaplik, who started on July 1, replaced previous superintendent Chris Granger, who left for the Sultan School District. Chaplik previously served as superintendent in Sultan and the Republic School District.
Within his first two weeks, Chaplik halted a plan to merge primary and elementary schools, focusing instead on rebuilding trust, improving morale, and reviewing the budget.
