A car crash on Saturday morning caused heavy damage to transformers, leading to a power outage that affected thousands of residents in Burlington and Sedro-Woolley.
According to Puget Sound Energy, more than 5,400 customers lost power, with over 1,000 still without power as of 1 p.m. in Sedro-Woolley.
The Sedro-Woolley police stated that a motor vehicle crash around 7 a.m. at Wicker Road and Fruitdale Road likely led to the large power outage.
Power was estimated to be restored to the remaining customers around 2:30 p.m., according to PSE.
