Don't Cut Off Lifeline for English Learners

In a city where one in five students are English language learners, we can’t afford not to support their education.

Education funding is vital, and Title III dollars impact the millions of English learners nationwide.

The federal government has zeroed out an important source of funding for Philadelphia’s public schools: Title III, which supplements state and local educational funding for students who are English Learners (ELs).

Title III policy recognizes that to learn in classrooms with English curricula, ELs need more resources so that they aren’t excluded from their legal right to a high-quality education in the US.

Let Congress know how important basic education is for our future and our prosperity.
