The Second Shift in Jodhpur’s Metal Ware Industry

Women employed in the steel utensil industry, performing tasks such as laser tagging, polishing, sticking stickers, packaging, and cleaning, carry a dual burden that sociologist Arlie Hochschild famously conceptualised as the “second shift.”
