Consumers Energy to Upgrade High-Voltage Equipment in Ionia County

Consumers Energy will be upgrading high-voltage electric equipment as part of the company's Reliability Roadmap to reduce the potential for power outages in the region.

The work will start on Saturday and interrupt electricity to 1,158 homes and businesses in Ionia County, largely around the town of Palo.

Crews will start work at 11 p.m. and continue until as late as 7 a.m., affecting people who live south of South Country Line Road, north of E. Bluewater Highway, east of M-66 and west of Strudle Road.

Part of the company’s Reliability Roadmap to reduce the potential for power outages in the region.
