Sunday Trading: Better Abolished than Relaxed

Recently, the Government considered increasing Sunday trading hours, allegedly to appease large businesses facing a tax hike.

However, after public outcry, the Government indicated it was merely "flying a kite" to gauge opinions, and not seriously pursuing the idea.

The current restriction remains, allowing large retailers and supermarkets to open for no more than six consecutive hours on Sundays.

As Christians, we believe a day of rest is beneficial and should not be compulsory to work on Sundays.
