Lámh Dhearg Ladies Celebrate 20th Anniversary

The GAA, Ireland's national sporting organisation, prides itself on being inclusive and community-driven.

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) was launched in 1974, and since then, ladies' football has experienced significant growth.

One of West Belfast's most renowned GAA clubs, Lámh Dhearg, recently celebrated its 20th anniversary of involvement in the LGFA.

From that moment on our young girls and ladies have been breaking down barriers each time they take to the grass and showing just why they deserve to be held in the same esteem as the men's game.

Aisling McConville, a Lámh Dhearg LGFA stalwart, shared her experiences with Belfast Media, recalling her early career in the 1990s when she trained with the boys' squad.

Lámh Dhearg's success over the past two decades is a testament to the club's dedication and passion for ladies' football.

Author's summary: Lámh Dhearg ladies celebrate 20 years in LGFA.
