Ace Frehley, the original guitarist of KISS, passed away peacefully at 74, surrounded by his family in Morristown, New Jersey, his agent confirmed.
His family said: "We were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth."
Frehley was known for his "spaceman" persona and was a founding member of KISS, alongside Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Peter Criss, when the band started in 1973.
Stanley and Simmons stated: "We are devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley. He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history."
