The report from this week’s Holsworthy market showed a similar entry and a strong trade for all the good meat lambs.
The 45-46kg lambs sold to a premium, with the top price being 316ppkg for a pen of 46.2kgs from C Littlejohns of Burny Cottage, Hartland.
The top price on the day was £156 from Messrs Bolt & Moore of Torrington.
There was a smaller entry of ewes, with nearly all lean and lightweight ewes on offer, and a continued strong trade was met for all.
A mixed entry of quality was seen, with the framed lambs being very much sought after.
