Project Connects Americans to Dutch People Honoring WWII Relatives
In the decades since June West Brandt's older brother was killed in World War II, she has never forgotten her kind and artistic sibling.
Brandt, 93, was delighted to discover that a Dutch couple, Lisa and Guido Meijers, regularly visit a marker for her brother at a Netherlands cemetery.

This introduction came through a new initiative aiming to increase connections between family members of those buried and remembered at the WWII cemetery and the Dutch people who have adopted each one.
The project has brought comfort to Brandt, who lives near Houston, and has allowed her to feel a sense of connection to those honoring her brother's memory.
