Major delays have occurred in railway services in Birmingham after a person died on a railway track.
The incident took place on the line between Birmingham New Street Station and Birmingham International shortly before midday on Wednesday, October 15.
Medics and police responded to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Marston Green Railway Station, but unfortunately, nothing could be done to save the person.
The ambulance service described the person who died as a 'pedestrian' and stated: "We were called to Marston Green Station, Holly Lane, Birmingham at 11:48 am following reports of an incident on the railway line. An ambulance and two paramedic officers responded. Sadly, a pedestrian was confirmed deceased on scene."
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called at around 11:50 am today (October 15) to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Marston Green Railway Station.
