A panel of scorers has declared the Casey Brooks bull the new archery world-record nontypical elk, with a final score of 478 ⅜ inches.
The Brooks bull, a Rocky Mountain elk tagged in Washington state in December, narrowly missed the all-time record due to a scoring technicality, ranking 2nd after the Spider Bull.
The Pope and Young Club announced the new record on Tuesday.
