FG Adjusts Entry Requirements for Nigerian Students
The Federal Government has approved new admission guidelines to increase access to higher education for Nigerian students starting from 2025.
According to Boriowo Folasade, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education, the new policy aims to "democratize access to tertiary education" and provide fair opportunities for young Nigerians to pursue higher learning.
- Harmonizing entry rules and lowering credit thresholds will create space for an additional 250,000 to 300,000 admissions annually.
- The reforms aim to reduce the number of out-of-school youths and strengthen vocational and technical training pipelines.
