The 1.65 m Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) Grand Prix round in Abu Dhabi proved to be exceptionally demanding, pushing every rider to the limit. Abdel Said expressed both pride and frustration after his performance, describing it as “an incredible round that could have ended even better.”
Abdel praised his mare, noting her power and spirit throughout the competition.
“She gave me everything today. I'm extremely proud of her effort,” he shared.
The combination showcased strong form and rhythm, delivering one of the most dynamic rounds of the event.
Despite the good result, Said admitted he was not fully satisfied with his own ride. He described small tactical errors that influenced the outcome:
“I missed a detail that made the difference between a great finish and the best possible one. That’s entirely on me,” he reflected.
His words revealed both professionalism and humility, emphasizing his desire to improve even when the performance was strong.
The Abu Dhabi LGCT was characterized by technical challenges and a tight leaderboard. Many riders struggled with the height and precision required by the course. Abdel’s round stood out for heart and connection with his horse, despite not making the top spot.
