Fines for violating vehicles found
Authorities in Kitui County have fined 161 vehicles for violating traffic rules and regulations.
The vehicles were fined a total of Ksh. 5.5 million for various traffic offenses.
The fines were imposed during a crackdown on traffic offenders in the Kitui region.
According to the authorities, the vehicles were found violating traffic rules such as driving without valid licenses, speeding, and using headlights during the day.
The fines will be used to improve road infrastructure and enhance safety on the roads in Kitui County.
"We will continue to crack down on traffic offenders to ensure that our roads are safe for all users," said Kitui County Commissioner, Abdi Shurie.
He added that the authorities will continue to monitor traffic flow and impose fines on errant drivers.
