An Indian Air Force (IAF) Tejas fighter jet built by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) crashed on 21 November 2025 during an aerial performance at the Dubai Airshow, held at Al Maktoum International Airport.

According to on-site reports from Jane’s, the accident occurred around 14:13 local time as the aircraft was flying from the east toward the southwest above the airport area. A photograph taken on 20 November had earlier shown the same Tejas Mk 1 performing an aerial display during the event.

About thirty minutes after the incident, the Indian Air Force confirmed the crash and stated that an inquiry would be launched to determine its cause.

The pilot sustained fatal injuries in the accident. A court of inquiry is being constituted to ascertain the cause of the accident.

A photograph shared by the Government of Dubai Media Office on X showed that the aircraft struck the ground in an open area just beyond the airport perimeter.
