The UK Foreign Secretary is visiting Jordan to advocate for increased humanitarian access to Gaza, describing it as a vital step toward lasting peace in the region.
The United Kingdom is expanding its humanitarian operations across the Middle East, with Jordan continuing to play a central role in coordinating and delivering aid.
During her visit, the Foreign Secretary will inspect a warehouse stocked with UK relief supplies awaiting entry into Gaza, highlighting the urgency of the situation.
“The people of Gaza cannot afford to wait,” the Foreign Secretary emphasized, urging for all border crossings to be opened and restrictions on aid to be lifted.
She is also advocating for the United Nations and humanitarian NGOs to scale up their life-saving operations under the framework of the US-led peace initiative.
While in Jordan, the Foreign Secretary is scheduled to meet with Jordanian leaders to coordinate joint efforts supporting a ceasefire, assisting civilians in Gaza, and promoting regional stability.
