League of Legends World Championship 2026 to Take Place in Texas and New York
Riot Games announced that the League of Legends World Championship 2026 will be held across Texas and New York City, marking the first time the event returns to North America since 2022.
Event Venues and Structure
During a media day before the Worlds 2025 Grand Final between T1 and KT Rolster, Riot Games revealed more about the tournament's venue setup:
- Allen, Texas will host the Play-In, Swiss stage, and Playoffs.
- New York City will be the location for the Grand Final.
Specific venues for each tournament phase have yet to be disclosed.
Significance of the Multi-City Format
Excluding the COVID-19 pandemic years, 2026 will be the first time in three years that the championship is hosted across two cities. In 2023, the tournament phases were split between Busan and Seoul in South Korea.

Riot also revealed details about the 2026 season’s first international event, First Stand:
- Scheduled for March 16 to 22 in São Paulo, Brazil.
- The number of competing teams will increase from six to eight.
- All matches in the tournament will adopt a best-of-five format.
