Christian Horner in new beef with his neighbors

Christian Horner in New Conflict With Neighbors

Former Red Bull F1 team principal Christian Horner and his wife Geri Halliwell have found themselves in a dispute with their neighbors in the English countryside. The couple, who reside near Banbury in Marston Saint Lawrence, have been accused of carrying out unauthorized construction at their £9.2 million Oxfordshire mansion.

Unauthorized Building Controversy

Local planning official Forrest Childs stated that planning permission had been refused for the couple’s oak-framed pergola and gazebo. Despite this, the buildings were reportedly completed, prompting frustration among local residents and the local authority.

“Both structures are located between the Grade II listed house and the Grade I listed Church of St. Whilst noted as well-constructed, the pergola lies in direct sight of the church when viewed from this garden area to the east of the house and detracts from views of the church, which is Grade I listed and therefore impacts its setting.”

Childs further explained that the historic church’s surroundings had been considered unspoilt prior to the construction of these additions.

Community Reaction and Possible Consequences

Several local residents have filed objections to the couple’s planning application. Officials have warned that enforcement measures could result in the removal of the unauthorized structures.

“The gazebo sits around 1.3 meters above the boundary wall and is visible from the public realm,”

added Childs, emphasizing the visual impact on the village environment.
