Michael Bublé made show history by using the first-ever Mic Drop as the coaches continued narrowing their teams on Season 28 of The Voice. The Monday, November 3 episode featured more intense Knockout Rounds, where mentors Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, and Bublé had to eliminate one artist per matchup.
This round carried extra pressure since there were no Saves or Steals, meaning each decision was final. However, each coach had a single Mic Drop opportunity, giving one artist from their team a chance to perform at the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day. Viewers will later choose their favorite Mic Drop artist through voting.
The first battle of the night came from Team Snoop, featuring Toni Lorene and Natala Albertini, both previously saved in the Battle Rounds.
“Natalia, your performance was spectacular, you’re gorgeous, I love your outfit. I guess if I had to pick one, I think I’d go with Natalia,” said Reba McEntire.
Niall Horan praised Toni as “a machine” and added, “The stuff you can do with your voice … there’s something special about you.”
Both Horan and Bublé said they would lean toward Toni, while Snoop Dogg expressed his pride in both performers, calling himself “a proud uncle.”
As the Knockouts near their conclusion, four Mic Drop artists will soon be in the spotlight, setting the stage for fans to determine who advances to perform at the iconic Rose Parade kickoff event.
