This Remembrance Sunday, a unique hand-built full-size reproduction of the Spitfire MK IX will be exhibited as a powerful tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who served in past and present conflicts.
2025 marks two important anniversaries: the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. In honor of these milestones, Armed Forces Champion Cllr Andrew Harrison sought to create a special commemoration.
"With the support of Squadron Leader (Retired) James A Cowan MBE and Simply Spitfire, we secured the reproduction fighter aircraft as a fitting tribute."
The Spitfire reproduction will be prominently displayed along the route of Durham City's annual Remembrance Parade, which runs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on the same day.
The aircraft on display is the only hand-built, full-size reproduction of the Spitfire MK IX produced by Simply Spitfire.
