The upcoming biopic series about The Beatles has officially confirmed its leading actresses. Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, Aimee Lou Wood, and Mia McKenna-Bruce will portray Linda McCartney, Yoko Ono, Pattie Boyd, and Maureen Starkey — the women who shared their lives with the members of the Fab Four during their meteoric rise in the 1960s.
All four actresses have finalized their deals to join “The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event,” an ambitious project directed by Sam Mendes and supported by Sony Pictures. Each movie will present the story from the perspective of one of the Beatles — John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr — tracing the band’s journey from Liverpool to global stardom, culminating in their breakup in 1970.
“Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right — and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure,” Mendes said.
The project represents the first time The Beatles and their families have granted both music and life rights for a major theatrical film. The casting announcement underscores a landmark collaboration between The Beatles’ legacy holders and modern cinema.
Linda Eastman first met Paul McCartney in 1967 while working as a photographer, marking the beginning of a partnership that would become one of the band’s most iconic personal stories.
Mendes’ four-part Beatles biopic unites acclaimed actresses as the Fab Four’s wives, bringing fresh perspective to the personal lives behind the world’s most legendary band.
