Methodist Children's Hospital turned into a festive space as every unit decorated with a theme, and staff wore creative costumes. Instead of the usual trick-or-treat, hospital leaders visited rooms to deliver treats, bringing the holiday spirit to young patients.
San Antonio Spurs forward Julian Champagnie made a surprise Halloween visit dressed as Scooby-Doo, accompanied by Coyote. Together, they handed out candy, took photos with patients, and talked with children about basketball, costumes, and whatever would brighten their day.
Champagnie’s visit is part of the Spurs’ ongoing community efforts to build connections and raise spirits away from the court.
“I didn’t make a wish, but it felt like one. It was inspirational to see my actual walking dream.”
— Jamal Magee, patient at Methodist Children’s Hospital
