A viral video has been circulating online claiming to depict the NEOM Stadium, part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious megaproject, positioned on top of a skyscraper. In truth, the imagery is AI-generated and does not represent the official development plan.
The striking images began circulating widely across social media in late October. Users claimed they showed the planned stadium for The Line, a futuristic city at the heart of the NEOM project. One widely shared post came from Rwandan user Edwin Musoni, who uploaded the video on X on October 26, earning around 3.5 million views.
“The clip shows a football stadium seemingly perched atop a skyscraper within a futuristic city.”
Musoni asserted that the venue would stand 1,150 feet (350 metres) above ground level.
While a stadium is indeed included in plans for The Line, the images circulating online were produced using artificial intelligence. There is no evidence these visuals are part of NEOM's official releases.
“Checking the official NEOM project accounts on X and Instagram, there is no trace of this video or similar images.”
Only a post from December references the NEOM Stadium, which is planned to sit about 350 metres above ground—but in a different architectural design than the AI-generated versions.
The viral images showing a NEOM stadium atop a skyscraper are AI-generated fabrications, not official visuals of Saudi Arabia’s planned project.
