The Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) and Toronto Hydro have achieved a significant milestone in expanding electric mobility by activating the 500th public electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Canada’s largest municipally owned network. This latest charger, located at Green P Carpark 504 on Willingdon Blvd., further enhances access to EV infrastructure throughout the city.
Since 2020, Toronto Hydro and TPA have collaborated to grow the city’s EV charging network. Initially launched by Toronto Hydro, the network's ownership was transferred to TPA in 2023, allowing for broader development and management.
“Reaching 500 energized EV charging stations is a testament to what strong partnerships can achieve,” said Jana Mosley, President & CEO of Toronto Hydro.
“Our mission is clear: to create a seamless mobility experience that delivers on Choice, Ease, and Speed for our customers,” stated TPA President Scott Collier, emphasizing the importance of expanding access to encourage EV adoption.
This milestone highlights Toronto’s commitment to supporting the growth of electric vehicle use by providing accessible and efficient charging options citywide.
